You said that all need saving and all can be saved by God’s grace alone, but isn’t that against your doctrine of limited atonement? When you were saved, didn’t you believe the gospel? Didn’t you recieve Jesus as your Saviour? That was not meritous in any part, because all you did was admit you inability to save yourself.
To me, it seems as though the Calvinist plan of salvation is found here
Lam 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
And suddenly, when God deems it your time, if you have been elect from the foundation of the world, then you will wake up and suddenly get born again.
Yet John writes in John 3:16, 3:18 and 3:36 that being born again is dependent on believing the gospel. John 1:18 says that we must receive Him. If someone came to you and said “what must I do to be saved” would you tell them “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved - Acts 16:31″ or would you tell them to wait until God saves them, despite the obvious fact they are convicted and looking for Christ. There is no work in recieving a gift.
BTW: I am not Arminian or charasmatic or loss of salvation. I don’t believe we must work to earn salvation or work to keep it. I believe in Eternal Security, but am not calvinist. I guess the closest denomination would be Independent Baptists or Plymouth Brethren, but I am a Christian first, and you are my brother.
God bless, Luke
